About PhotoCultivator
PhotoCultivator teaches practical photography technique and honest gear advice, written by a working photographer, not a marketing department.
Who's behind this
I'm Hakan Ozturk, a professional photographer based in Paris. Over 15+ years I've shot stock, landscape, wildlife, and drone photography, and my work has been published globally through Adobe Stock, where I've sold thousands of images.
I started PhotoCultivator because too many beginners waste money on overpriced gear they don't need, and too many experienced photographers stay stuck repeating the same mistakes with no one telling them the truth. My goal is to help you take better photos without the gatekeeping, gear worship, or marketing hype that dominates photography education.
What you'll find here
Practical tutorials with exact settings, step-by-step instructions, and real examples, not vague "find your style" advice. Honest gear reviews where I tell you when expensive gear isn't worth it, and when a $300 camera beats a $1,500 one for what you actually shoot. And straightforward guides on technique, composition, and editing you can test on your next shoot.

How this site makes money
PhotoCultivator is free to read. To keep it running, some gear links in my articles are Amazon affiliate links. If you click one and buy, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences which products I recommend. I only link to gear I would genuinely suggest to a friend, and I turn down affiliate programs for products I wouldn't stand behind.
I don't accept paid reviews, sponsored posts, or brand partnerships. Every recommendation here is editorially independent. If I think a product is overpriced or disappointing, I say so. This model keeps the site honest: it depends on your trust, not on pushing products.
